-Bouisol-colloidal copper used as a fungacide since 1931.
-Used an an algaecide in the treatment of water in swimming pools.
-Used in polymers and plastics, lubricants, inks and metallic coatings
-Copper interconnects on silicon chips in computers.
-Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) has recently developed metal nanofluids based on nanoparticles of copper that would have application in improving the efficiency of automobiles, heating/air conditioning systems and industrial equipment.
-Antimicrobial Materials - research is being done at MIT
